Residents were urged to be cautious of what they put in stormwater pipes following the recent death of dozens of fish in Lonehill Dam as a result of oil spillage into the dam.

Residents were urged to be cautious of what they put in stormwater pipes following the recent death of dozens of fish in Lonehill Dam as a result of oil spillage into the dam.

JENNY MOODLEY: Residents should always know that whatever goes into stormwater pipes will end up in our rivers and dams. If it’s something toxic and poisonous it will have a negative impact on water and water species.
DAVID FOLEY: I implore residents to show some respect to our environment and refrain from putting things that will have catastrophic impact to water species.
SHELLEY MILLER: Residents should be mindful of the amount of damage to the environment due to these contaminants are huge they also cause excessive plant growth within the water bodies.
