Local hip-hop music artist and songwriter Esther Khoza, also known as ‘Ms EJN’ is set to release her new single titled Bleeding on June 16.
Hailing from the narrow and dusty streets of Diepsloot, Khoza released her first extended play (EP) which received a positive response from music lovers in 2018.
Her EP featured hit tracks like Always on my mind and Fly with me which received airplay from different community and national radio stations.
Khoza shared, “Inspired by the likes of Michael Jackson, Madonna, Britney Spears and others, I developed a love for music and decided to pursue music as a career. I started doing music at the age of seven and wrote my first song titled The one I love at the age of 14.”
In 2011 she won a rap-battle competition hosted by Diepsloot Lito’s Pub and was nominated twice at the Diepsloot Community Annual Awards in the category of the most influential person.
“The song is inspired by relationships that didn’t work out after one gave it her all to make it work. It’s also inspired by my personal experience and of people around me who shared their personal relationship experiences with me.”
She said the new song will be available on all digital music platforms from June 16.
