Diepsloot-based musician and cultural activist, Tau Sebata’s latest album was nominated in two prestigious local music awards.
His album, Mathotse, released in June this year featured 14 tracks, and was nominated in the Golden Arts and Media Awards (Gama) and South African Traditional Music Awards (Satma).
He was nominated in Gama’s category of best traditional artist. “This is a national category where all traditional music artists contest for one award. The date and venue of the event is yet to be announced,” Sebata said.
“In Satma, I am nominated in the best Sepedi artist/group category.
This category is contested by only Sepedi recording artists. The event will be held on 27 November 2021 in Mbombela, Mpumalanga province.”
Sebata appealed to all music lovers and members of the public to vote for him by sending ‘SATMA182’ to 49495.
