A Crawford International Lonehill teacher and coach made it into the final of Survivor South Africa.
Anela Majozi (26) outwitted, outplayed and outlasted his fellow castaways to get into the final alongside Nicole Wilmans (26). Wilmans was ultimately named the winner after receiving more votes on September 16.
Majozi said the reception from the viewers had been mixed. “It’s been really unbelievable… I didn’t necessarily get a warm response towards me as a player from the audience… in person, the sentiment has been so different.
“People came to me and told me they were rooting for me, so everyone was really supportive. I think you have to take it with a pinch of salt and engage the good and the bad,” he said.
Majozi said on the show he had kept an open mind and also used his charisma and outgoing personality to get ahead, although he did not use a specific tactic.
He said from the start of the game, he had envisioned himself wining the show and the R1-million prize.
Talking about his future he said, “I’ve been looking for a while to migrate to the United Kingdom, and I’ll be leaving the country to study at the University of Wales in about a month from now.
“I was looking at the bills needed to [emigrate]. I thought how hilarious it would be if I go and do this show and then in September, I go to the UK with R1 million in the bank.”
