Sunninghill Ratepayers Association and Sanbs in a bid to save lives

SUNNINGHILL– Gildenhys said the initiative was a success and thanked those who turned out to donate blood.

Sunninghill Ratepayers Association and South African National Blood Service (SANBS) hosted a blood donation drive on 19 and 20 June this year.

Dozens of generous residents of Sunninghill flocked to Gardens Park to assist those in urgent need of blood in hospital.

Chairperson of the association, Linda Gildenhys said the initiative was a success and thanked those who turned out to donate blood.

“We would like to thank the Sunninghill residents for their support in our efforts to help those in need of blood. The number of donors who donated blood was 27…. This number excludes those who were unable to donate due to various health reasons. We highly appreciate all those who donated and those who came but could not donate due to health reasons,” she said.

Donor relations practitioner at Sanbs, Gladness Sathekge urged members of the community to continue supporting their blood donation initiatives in the future to help save lives.

“We would like to thank the donors for attending our blood drive donation initiative on 19 and 20 June in Sunninghill. We also like to thank Sunninghill Ratepayers Association for their support and willingness to host blood drive initiatives,” Sathekge said.
