Shelembe was born in uMsinga in KwaZulu-Natal and moved to Johannesburg at a very young age to live with his father. He said he wanted to remind South Africans and the global community that love existed even after the pandemic.

“I’ve been in the music industry for some time now and I have learned that love and music conquers everything and it can break barriers. Actually music is a universal language that unites people who speak different languages,” Shelembe said.

“My new single track Wena Wedwa is a reminder to our bruised nation that even though we are going through challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic, love still exists. Most people find refuge in music when they are going through trying times and this was my offering to our nation.”

Shelembe added that he recently decided to switch from CD to digital music platforms after he realised many people were buying music online. “All my previous work was available on CD only and I used to push it on the streets through promotions in different places. To move with the times, I’ve now decided to switch to digital and my music is now available on all digital music platforms.

“I am currently dropping singles to prepare for my Extended Play (EP)which will be released very soon.”
