Masalesa said she had always loved everything that felt like it has been done with emotion. “I have been writing music and singing for almost eight years, I went into poetry almost four years ago,” she explained.

“I have always found understanding and pure expression through books and music. The idea that I have the ability to write and sing, something that others can go to for comfort, is why I love poetry and music.”

She described her music and writing as ‘confidently lost and indecisive’. Focusing on her resolutions, Masalesa said she would publish an online poetry book. “I will be publishing my book in the next two weeks named Behind The Window.

“The book will have about 70 poems, most of which are free verse. They [public] can look forward to my personal journey and understanding as the book was written at such a chaotic time and place, so it is amazing to relate to.”

As far as her music was concerned she said, “I would like to release my first EP by the end of the year and begin songwriting for other upcoming artists.”
