Five events for a good cause that the Fourways Review highlighted this year

FOURWAYS – We highlight some of the wonderful events hosted for a good cause this year.

Throughout the year, the Fourways Review has reported on numerous events hosted for a good cause. In sharing the Christmas spirit, we’ve rounded up some of our favourites.

1. Happiness delivered

About 13 000 children from Diepsloot got a very special delivery on 14 November when the Delivering Happiness Event to Diepsloot for 2019 took place. Read the full article here:

2. That’s a wrap on a successful fundraiser

Ark Animal Centre spent 10 days at Broadacres Shopping Centre in Broadacres wrapping gifts for the Fourways community to raise funds during the festive season. Read more here:

3. Over R100k raised to combat the plight of the pangolins

The African Pangolin Working Group (APWG) held a fundraising evening at Skoobs in Montecasino on 4 October in support of the most trafficked animal in the world. Read more here:

4. Last chance to support the rhinos atop the Rhino Tower at Montecasino

Only about R140 000 has been raised by the man living atop the Rhino Tower at Montecasino, a fraction of the R3 million he had hoped for. On 26 April, Gareth Putter of Rocking for Rhinos ascended the tower, which is 16 meters tall, where he planned to live for a full calendar month. Read more here:

5. A night of fun for a good cause

The Edu Fun SA organisation is hosted its first-ever fundraising event on the evening of 11 May to support a number of volunteer projects at Diepsloot Combined School. Read more here:
