Even more reason to shop up a storm this season

FOURWAYS – Talk about an extreme makeover – Cedar Square has just had a huge one, making it look sassy and stylish.

So what does this fabulous face lift entail? Well, look out for the new lifestyle deck, new restaurants and wonderful shopping experiences. Popular Vietnamese restaurant, Saigon Suzy, and pizza king, Big Bad Wolf, are part of the new offerings – and already hugely popular.

Accelerate Property Fund’s head of marketing, Zoé van Onselen, explained the reasons for the upgrade, “The centre really is the warm heart of the local community, and has a solution to just about every shopping or eating-out need in the area. “The various new outlets and restaurants in Cedar Square have made the centre even more appealing, along with the fresh new décor elements.”

Another great addition is the proudly South African Essential Earth Remedies store which recently launched at the centre offering a full range of hand-crafted, restorative, non-toxic and 100 per cent natural products. Owners Marinda Thomas, Jason Thomas and Lauren Rosslee were excited to open the store at one of the go-to centres within Fourways.

A family business, the store was established online and started by Marinda with her children following in her footsteps. “Basically, how the whole business started was that my mom used to use a product from England and it just became too expensive to maintain the costs that came with it,” Rosslee said. Jason added, “Eventually through trial, error, experimentation and eventually selfteaching, she just manufactured one of her own.

“[It was] born out of necessity almost a decade ago.” The products are cooked up in small batches just above the store in a loft laboratory. Rosslee is completing a degree in organic skincare chemistry. Jason said, “We are apothecarists for Essential Earth Remedies, so this is our own little medieval but very modern potion-making place.” According to him, the natural trend is well on its way. So don’t forget to pop into this store on your next visit to the new and improved Cedar Square. Details: www.cedarsquare.co.za; www.essentialearthremedies.co.za
