Celebrations abound for the best of the best in Joburg

JOBURG – If there’s one thing the Best of Joburg team knows how to do, it’s how to spoil.

This is precisely what the team did last week to congratulate the winners of the Best of Joburg Readers’ Choice Awards 2019 and to celebrate with some of the readers who voted in the competition.

The festive week kicked off on the evening of 21 October at the Best of Joburg Reader Winners’ Dinner, fittingly held at the best new restaurant in Joburg, Daruma By Oskido in Waterfall Corner. How do we know this is the best new restaurant in the city? Well, because Joburgers told us so!

For the 24th year, readers cast their votes in the Best of Joburg Readers’ Choice Awards 2019 and this spot came up tops in the best new restaurant category. After tucking into some delicious sushi and teppanyaki dishes, we can say with certainty that we understand why Joburgers love it.

If you’re really lucky on a visit to this restaurant, you may just bump into the DJ, Oskido, himself. The readers who attended our dinner did, and, luckily, Oskido wasn’t opposed to posing for selfies with us all. Wondering how some readers bagged the invite to our event? All the readers who cast their vote in the Best of Joburg competition were entered into a lucky draw, and six super lucky readers (along with their partners) were invited to join our team for dinner and a chance to win some seriously awesome prizes.

So who were our reader winners and what did they win? Matthew Levine won a luxurious night’s stay for two in the presidential spa suite at Fairlawns Boutique & Spa
