Fourways set for growth in coming years

With a healthy mix of residential, commercial and mixed-use properties on offer, Fourways is seeing significant growth in the property sector. Find our why Fourways is one of the most rapidly expanding development areas in Gauteng.

Fourways has always been a prime candidate for growth and expansion, however, the R2.4bn expansion of the Fourways Mall really seems to have kickstarted a proper growth spurt.

According to Sandra McKenzie, Branch Head of Adrienne Hersch Properties in Olivedale, Fourways is quickly becoming an entertainment, retail, commercial and residential hub to rival both Johannesburg and Pretoria’s CBD zones that include Sandton, Rosebank and Menlyn.

She added: “We anticipate property prices to slowly climb as demand from both buyers and investors continues to rise against this backdrop of substantial development and investment in the area.

“Investors are able to get a lot more house for their money in comparison with neighbouring suburbs. The area also offers larger than normal stands with many of the original Fourways homes measuring 15000 sqm.”

The demographic of buyers is quite diverse, with young professionals looking for easy-to-maintain investments and homes becoming the norm more and more. With property for sale in Fourways ranging from bachelor flats priced between R700 000 – R900 000 to two bed  / bathroom flats selling for between R1 million and R1.5 million, there are numerous options for first time buyers to get a foot into the property market.

Situated very conveniently between Johannesburg and Pretoria, Fourways offers great commuting options and access to major transport routes. There are numerous reputable schools in the area, as well as top-class medical facilities including Sandton Clinic and Sunninghill Hospital. Fourways is growing rapidly, and with that growth, residents (both current and prospective) can look forward to an improvement of services, amenities and of course additional investment opportunities.
