It’s the most magical time of the year, and what better way to celebrate the festive season than with an afternoon, or evening at the ballet.
One of the most loved fairytale’s of all time, Cinderella is set to come alive on the stage at The Teatro, Montecasino as Joburg Ballet’s production of Cinderella offers audiences an un-missable chance to enjoy Joburg’s world-class ballet company as it expands its reach across the city.
The ballet is choreographed by Joburg Ballet’s artistic director Iain MacDonald and will waltz across The Teatro stage with Johann Strauss’s champagne-infused melodies providing the perfect musical setting for the ultimate rags-to-riches tale, from 14th – 23rd December.
Andrew Botha’s glittering designs frame the action and the full company will light up the theatre in a family-friendly production brimming with charm and magic.
“Strauss composed some of the most enchanting and memorable classical music ever written and Cinderella, his only ballet score, is no exception. With Christmas just around the corner, it’s the perfect outing this holiday season,” MacDonald said. “We’re also inviting our audience members to bring a little magic into a child’s life this Christmas by depositing a gift in our special gift box in the main foyer before any Cinderella performance and we’ll pass it on to our chosen charity, NG Welfare.”
