Quiz night fun with Friends of Free Wildlife at Broadacres

BROADACRES – Read what happened at the recent Friends of Free Wildlife quiz night.

Community members and wildlife enthusiasts enjoyed a competitive quiz night of fun for a good course at Copperlake Brewing Co. in Broadacres Shopping Centre on 15 March, as part of the Friends of Free Wildlife (FFW) initiative to raise funds for their organisation.

The chairperson of the FFW, Margi Brocklehurst said, “We are here to raise funds for FFW. It is a fun way of raising money, as people not only get to enjoy a quiz night but they can also buy a raffle ticket and stand a chance to win a prize.”

Brocklehurst added that it is not necessarily difficult for people to participate as it is more of a general knowledge quiz with a few wildlife questions. “Anybody can enter our quiz night as people are put into teams of six or eight and draw up answers to the questions asked from which they then stand a chance to win special prizes.”

The quiz nights are hosted every six months. “We held the last one here at Copperlake Brewing Co. in September so we decided to host it here again,” she said.

Robin Seale, Martin Leigh, Brenton Pretorius and Mandy Leigh enjoy themselves at the quiz night.

Brocklehurst explained that the importance of hosting a quiz night for people who are friends of the organisation or friends of their volunteers was that they get to see what the FFW does, their importance of raising funds and getting to interact with the organisation on the night.

Friends of Free Wildlife is situated at 1/193 Maple Road in Kyalami and is open every day from 8am until 5pm.
