VIDEO: Celebrating the Best of Joburg

JOBURG – What better way is there to highlight the best Johannesburg has to offer than to invite the best of the best to a high tea awards celebration.

The Best of Joburg Reader’s Choice Awards celebrated the cream of Johannesburg’s crop at this year’s awards ceremony where all things beautiful and decadent were showcased.

There was no better-fitting venue to host this year’s high tea than at the Beechwood Gardens in Hyde Park. Guests were able to marvel at the majestic gardens perfectly situated in the heart of Joburg which paralleled the high calibre of winners.

The Best of Joburg allows readers a platform to cast their vote for what they feel is the best business in a specific category albeit the best primary school, new restaurant, or TV host. Readers were able to fill in an extensive online or paper survey – this year a whopping 200 000 paper surveys were completed.

Voters also stood a chance to be selected in a lucky draw to win fabulous prizes such as weekend-getaways, merchandise and vouchers from winning businesses.

One lucky winner received a R20 000 gift voucher from the winners of best garden centre for the past 19 years, Life Style.

This year Sun International was awarded a special 20-year certificate for Sun City being the best weekend-away prize. So if you haven’t been there for a while, it’s really worth the drive.
