Ridiculousness Africa returns with a bang, featuring two new hosts

JOHANESSBURG – Ridiculousness Africa is back with a bang. Read on to see who the new hosts are.

A hilarious and crazy Internet video commentary show, Ridiculousness Africa, returns for a second season of insane antics, which will begin on 8 June on MTV, DStv channel 130 at 9.35pm.

Seen as a hit with community members, Ridiculousness Africa debuted in July last year and audiences cracked-up, cringing on the edge of their seats.

The show features some of the funniest videos the Internet has to offer along with commentary from the award-winning actor, comedian and TV host, Thomas Gumede and a new well-known panel of African talent.

As shooting has recently commenced in Spain, Gumede will be joined by co-hosts and co-conspirators, actress, singer and former Generations star, Denise Zimba and happy-go-lucky MTV Base video jockey and Nigerian on-screen personality, Ehizojia ‘Ehiz’ Okoeguale.

Returning as the host of the second season, Gumede said, “It is going to be better and even funnier than before. There is a great team on air and behind the scenes and returning to Spain, to film and speak Spanish to all the lovely ladies, is definitely the cherry on the top.”

Vice president BET, Youth and Music for VIMN Africa, Monde Twala stated that viewers should hold tight for another series of Internet comedy and catastrophes! “We are delighted that Denise and Ehiz will be joining Thomas and bringing their larger-than-life personalities to the show – it is going to be more fun than ever before!” Twala said.

When asked how she felt, Zimba said, “I have always been a fan of the show; it’s hilarious so I’m excited to be joining Thomas and Ehiz and to be doing my thing! I believe that I am a perfect fit – the show is fun and colourful, a bunch of laughs with high energy. I’m going to be bringing all of me on set. Everyone knows I’m crazy and loud and I’m going to bring vibrant commentary. I just hope I can contain myself!”

Bearing the warning ‘Don’t try this at home’, Ridiculousness Africa is the home-grown version of Ridiculousness, MTV’s long-running video clip show hosted by well-known American professional skateboarder, Rob Dyrdek.

“There is no holding back this season. Each episode will feature new segments with ridiculous African videos from all over the continent, including a big bang all Africa episode for die-hard fans,” Twala concluded.

Ridiculousness Africa will air weekly on MTV, DStv channel 130 from 8 June at 9.35pm.
