Taking place at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown on 25 November and spiced up by KFC, this year’s Maftown Heights Festival saw large crowds of hip-hop enthusiasts turning up in their numbers to enjoy upbeat entertainment and music.
Party-goers were not deterred by the rain and stood firmly on the square to witness renowned South African artists such as Kwetsa, Riky Rick, AKA, Mdu, Khuli Chana, Cassper Nyovest and many others take to the stage to deliver explosive performances of new school hip-hop infused with Kwaito.
Those who sought other forms of fun were seen enjoying KFC’s social village which offered entertainment and activities. The entertainment and amenities included free Wi-Fi, limited edition Sparkling Krushers, competitive games of foosball, arcade games and trendy haircuts from the on-site barber.
