Big drug bust

BRYANSTON – The Sandton Police recently arrested two people for alleged dealing in illegal narcotics.

 

Sandton police recently had a success following a drug bust in Bryanston where several kilograms of illegal narcotics worth millions of rands was found.

David Mothapo, communications official of the Sandton Police Station said, “It was a joint operation between the police and the Narcotics Unit under The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI). The police and Narcotics Unit were working on information we received and conducted the operation.

The illegal contraband: 7kg of ephedrine and 2.5kg of cocaine.

“During the drug bust, two suspects were arrested for allegedly dealing drugs. During the operation, we found 7kg of ephedrine, 2.5kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of R2 million, and R4 250 in cash at an address on Arlington Road in Bryanston.”

The suspects are currently in custody and are yet to appear in court.
