Whiskey Live in Sandton

SANDTON – The Whiskey Live recently took place at the Sandton Convention Centre and featured over 200 different whiskeys.

The world’s largest whiskey festival recently took place at the Sandton Convention Centre and was attended by thousands of people across three days of whiskey tasting.
The festival played host to over 200 whiskeys under one roof to discerning drinkers.
A number of master distillers and experts attended to talk whiskey with the visitors, including Brian Nation of Jameson and South Africa’s own Andy Watts from Three Ships.
Sandton Chronicle caught up with John Quin, global brand ambassador of Tullamore Dew and asked him how he experienced the festival. “It is a big gig for our whiskey here in South Africa and we are releasing our 14- and 18-year single malt whiskeys.

“This is my first time at the South African Whiskey Live and it is really impressive to be here.”
The whiskey festival gave attendees the opportunity to taste the newest whiskey releases, meet master distillers from across the globe and also discover new whiskeys.

Luthando Jezz Tibini, Glenfiddich’s national brand ambassador said, “This year’s Whisky Live has been wonderful and we’ve been extremely busy. Our new expressions have been popular amongst the attendees and we saw a lot of response towards the Glenfiddich premium range.” He continued that the biggest trend at this years festival was all the game changing expressions.
