Reassurance from ADT

SANDTON – ADT wants to assure Bryanston residents that they do not have to worry about the company's effectiveness during the Belgrave Bridge closure.

The Sandton Chronicle has reported on the closure of the Belgrave Bridge, Bryanston and this has resulted in mixed responses from residents.

In the article Belgrave Bridge report, Week ending 14 October, which reported on an investigation done by an engineering firm, it was discussed that it was imperative that this bridge stayed closed for repairs as it was believed to be unsafe for road users.

However, it is not only residents who have concerns about the closure of the bridge, but security companies and businesses as well.

One of the issues that had not been addressed was service delivery to the area, particularly when it came to security services. This road closure means that traffic is diverted to other surrounding roads, and routes to work and home have been changed as a result of this.

Theunis Kotze, the ADT general manager for the Inland Region discussed the security company’s functioning and effectiveness in light of the bridge’s closure.

He reassured residents in the area and explained, “They do not need to feel vulnerable in any way. We have three dedicated patrol vehicles covering the Bryanston River Club area as part of our Morningside hub. These vehicles will now effectively service all customers living inside the area now cut off by the bridge and there will be no interruption to our service.”

He added that the rest of Bryanston will be serviced by five allocated vehicles operating from the security company’s Randburg hub.
