Dancers of Xstatic Dance studio recently took part in the South African Dance School Championships and their youngest dancer, Danni-Leigh Slater, was the victor.

Seen as the star dancer at the championships, Slater, received a special award for top junior freestyle solo, a high silver medal in the seven to eight years freestyle solo category, a gold plus medal for best hip-hop personality in the seven to eight years hip-hop solo category and high silver medal in the seven to eight years contemporary solo category.

“I own and teach at the Xstatic Dance studio which has branches in Douglasdale, Kyalami and Floracliffe. This past weekend my students took part in the SA Dance School Championships and my student, Danni made me proud,” dance director and teacher, Lindy Liebmann said. She added that her teen hip-hop group also did well, along with her many other students from the Fourways studio.
The results of the dancers from the Douglasdale studio are:
- The 13- to 15-year-old hip-hop group which consisted of dancers Bridget Schroeder, Ita Marie, Dambe Hansen, Radhika Moodley, Oratile Nyatlo, Mikayla Worrall, Darra Whyte and Colby Nieman received a gold medal in the category.
- Dancer, Bridget Schroeder, received a silver medal in the 11- to 12-year-old contemporary category and a high silver medal in the 11- to 12-year-old modern jazz.
- Dancer, Mikayla Parsons, received a high silver medal in the seven- to eight-year-old freestyle solo and a high silver medal in the seven to eight hip-hop solo.
