FOURWAYS – Do you know who won Mrs Johannesburg? Read to find out who it is.

Fourways resident, Jaci Tibbit was recently crowned Mrs Johannesburg 2016 at the Velmore Estate in Pretoria.

“I am so humbled and grateful to have this platform to make a difference and be the voice for others. A big passion of mine is to continue empowering and impacting other women to believe in themselves so that they, too, can realise their potential,” Tibbit said.

“All things are possible when you just put your heart and mind to it and have faith. If your faith is big, your dreams will be big – it is that simple.”

Tibbit, who was crowned over the weekend of 27 August at the prestigious event said, “I cannot explain how overwhelmed I was when they announced my name to take the title as Mrs Johannesburg 2016, the feeling was sublime and surreal, to say the least. I also walked away with Mrs Personality and the debutante award.

“I am a child of God, a devoted wife, a loving mother who is blessed with two beautiful boys, a businesswoman and now blessed to have a platform to make a difference as Mrs Johannesburg 2016.”

Tibbit explained her reason behind entering Mrs Johannesburg was due to her passion and drive to make a difference in the community. “I want to be a role model to the younger generation, to give hope to those in need, to love and positively impact and empower children and people in disadvantaged communities as well as abused women and children and the elderly.”

“The pageant is really about beauty with a purpose – ordinary women stepping forward to achieve the extra-ordinary by inspiring hope in the heart of the community. The pageant is a charity fundraiser to assist projects of a non-profit organisation, Rolemodels Foundation.”

Tibbit added that the foundation intervenes in impoverished communities in the country, specifically targeting the three most vulnerable groups within a community such as early childhood development through the Imfundo Educare and Skills development project; abused women and children through the Asante-Neo Life Project and restoring dignity to senior citizens through the Tamakhulu Project.

“I have faced many challenges throughout my life which I have overcome and it has made me the strong, confident and ambitious woman I am today,” she quipped.

“My ambition in life is to be the best version of myself, to be the best mother to my children, and to be the best wife to my very supportive husband. I live by the motto; Your life has a purpose. Your story is important. Your dreams count. Your voice matters. You were born to make an impact. If we are not living our life to make someone else’s better than we are not really living at all,” she expressed.
