Musician takes to the ring for charity

JOHANNESBURG – Musician pledges to take part in a fight for charity

Local musician, Garth Taylor, is appealing to the public to take part in the #YouPledgeIFIGHT initiative, which aims to raise funds for childhood cancer patients.

The initiative was started by Taylor recently and he urges residents to pledge or donate money to see him take part in a boxing match, with the donated funds set to go towards helping the Little Fighters Cancer Trust, a non-profit organisation focused on supporting children with cancer and their families.

The pledge fight is set to take place during the White Collar Boxing 14 event at Scarlett Ribbon at Greenstone Park on 30 June.

Residents and companies are urged to pledge and donate towards the initiative, which aims to raise R100 000 at the end of the fight.

The Little Fighters Cancer Trust is a one-of-a-kind childhood cancer charity currently servicing more than 100 individual families of cancer patients nationally.

The organisation has a no turn-away policy and also works with various hospitals in Johannesburg, including the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital.
