Spreading the good word about SA

FOURWAYS – Mr South Africa Armand du Plessis to promote SA at Mr World contest.

Skoobs bookshop has donated books to Mr South Africa, Armand du Plessis for him to take to the Mr World competition to be held in Southport, UK on 19 July this year.

The South Africa history and photography books were handed over to Du Plessis by the bookshop’s manager Kirsten Rolsten and their events manager Deborah du Plooy.

Du Plessis said he intended to use the competition as a platform to market South Africa as a favourable tourist destination. “I will take the books to the Mr World event and hand them out to colleagues who are participating in the pageant,” he said.

Du Plooy said the gesture was designed to spread South African literature far and wide. “He asked us to donate the books and we gladly did that.”

Du Plessis will take part in the glittering pageant that will be contested by 19 participants drawn from various corners of the world. Only two African countries, South Africa and Kenya, are participating in the glamorous search for the world’s most desirable man.
