Ashton Nyte releases new video
JOHANNESBURG – Local singer Ashton Nyte had a lot to celebrate on 27 April – his birthday and the release of a new video for a song off his latest album.
Ashton Nyte is the frontman for the gothic rock band The Awakening and is also an incredible solo artist.
Not only did he have birthday celebrations up his sleeve on 27 April, but he also released the video for the track A Halo in the Dirt, which comes off his latest solo album Some Kind of Satellite.

Nyte began his fantastic career with a haunting version of The Sound Of Silence with The Awakening in 1997 and has topped charts with hits such as Glam Vamp Baby, Maree and See Me Cry. Has has also just confirmed that his two most recent albums, Some Kind Of Satellite and Anthology XV (with The Awakening) will be released in China this year as well. Negotiations to perform in the Asian country are currently under way.

The video for A Halo in the Dirt also premiered with the alternative fashion and culture site Auxilliary Magazine in New York. A Halo in the Dirt is the third video single from the album, and Nyte said it is his favourite song on the album – as well as one of the most personal offerings of his stylistically diverse and enigmatic career.
