Mystic India set to bring an explosion of colour, energy and culture to mesmerise audiences

JOBURG - Ever wanted to visit India, well Mystic India is set to take you there.

 

Community members are in for a treat as the festive Bollywood music and dance spectacular, Mystic India, is set to hit the Teatro stage in Montecasino from 29 April to 1 May.

Mystic India intertwines a mesmerising combo when traditional India meets the urban streets of Mumbai and New York. It showcases Bollywood at its finest as it sparks an explosion of colour and energy, and is based on the concept of ancient India’s transition to modern India.

With 22 talented musicians, skilled dancers, mind-boggling aerialists and acrobats, and 750 costume changes, the show guarantees to keep the audience at the edge of their seat.

The production has been seen by more than half a million people during countless worldwide performances and tours.

Audience members will be invited along for a festive journey through Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, and through the evolution of Bollywood films via a visual display that fuses dance, theatre and special effects.

Mystic India is directed and choreographed by the renowned choreographer and production master, Amit Shah, and produced by US-based AATMA Performing Arts, of which Shah is the founder and creative director.

Shah is known for his critical eye and creative disposition and has many years of experience in the world of dance, theatre and media. He has worked on Bollywood film sets with top actors and his choreography has been featured onstage with Miss World Priyanka Chopra.

Touching on the production, Shah said, “If you have ever wanted to visit India, this production is your direct flight there. Mystic India will blow you all the way to the small villages of India to the fast-paced streets of Mumbai and New York. Audiences will get it all!”
