Lonehill movie night in the park a success

LONEHILL – The Lonehill Residents' Association (LRA) hosted their first movie night of the year in Lonehill Park on 5 March.

Sponsored by MTN, tickets were sold out by 4 March and saw 1 700 excited movie-goers attending the event – all waiting to hear the famous line from Forest Gump, ‘Life is like a box of chocolates – you never know what you are going to get’.

Food vendors sold popcorn, slushies, milkshakes, waffles and prego rolls while a Century 21 jumping castle kept the children entertained before the movie started.

Kelly Braum of the association said, “The Lonehill Residents’ Association would like to thank the residents and their families and friends for supporting this event in such huge numbers. And also MTN for their support and generous sponsorship.”

Braum added that all proceeds from the tickets would go towards costs to pave the Calderwood entrance to the Lonehill Park, a City Parks and Lonehill Residents’ Association project which will commence in the next few weeks.
