Johannesburg has been the scene of choice for a number of international movies and City Buzz took a look at some of the movies which have been filmed in Joburg and put the city in the spotlight.
Dredd (2012)
Dredd is a 3D futuristic movie of an American city which is crime-stricken and solely relies on the police to enforce order.
District 9 (2009)
District 9, a sci-fi film inspired by district six during the apartheid era is filmed in Chiawelo and Johannesburg and depicts the retaliation of segregated aliens.
Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
The Avengers’ sequel showcases the amazing cast comprising Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Samuel L Jackson who stop Ultron from enacting his plans to destruct the world.
