The Soil searches for new vocalist
JOBURG - A cappella band The Soil, which is based in Johannesburg, has announced the impending absence of their only female vocalist Buhle Mda, who has decided to follow her ancestral calling.
Mda said she does not know how long her absence will be as it is going to depend on her mentor. “I have decided to heed my ancestral calling and how long I will be gone for will be determined by my progress with my mentor,” she said.
Following this announcement, the group is in search of a female vocalist who will join The Soil as of March. The search is open to all female vocalists who believe they have what it takes to be a part of the confident band.
Interested vocalists are encouraged to visit The Soil’s Facebook page as this is the platform they will use for interested females to submit their audition videos.
The new vocalist will get an opportunity to share the stage with Mda and the rest of the band in February before taking over in March.
