Mariah Carey heads to SA
JOBURG - It's official, Mariah Carey is heading to Johannesburg in May as a part of the Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour of South Africa.
Not only did Big Concerts confirm that the singer and songwriter legend would head to Johannesburg to perform for her adoring fans, but they have also since added two tour dates to Cape Town and Durban.
Carey’s ongoing impact transcends the music industry to leave a lasting imprint upon the world at large. She has made substantial marks in the film industry with roles in <ct:Italic>Precious<ct:>, Lee Daniel’s <ct:Italic>The Butler <ct:>and she most recently made her directorial debut in <ct:Italic>A Christmas Melody.<ct:>
With her distinct five-octave vocal range, prolific songwriting and producing talent, the talented vocalist is a modern RnB music icon.
Drawing back on a catalogue of more than 18 number 1 singles and chart toppers, the <ct:Italic>Butterfly<ct:> singer will perform her biggest hits, including the timeless <ct:Italic>Hero, Fantasy, Always Be My Baby<ct:>, the global smash hit <ct:Italic>We Belong Together <ct:>and many more.
“Lambily, it’s been too long,” Carey addressed her South African fans on social media. Apparently she calls her fans ‘lambs’ which have become her family.

The Joburg leg of the tour comprises two dates which include 1 and 2 May at the TicketPro Dome.
Tickets, which start from R565, are currently on sale.
The tour will be the singer’s first time performing in the country and fans eagerly await her arrival.
