Local lass in the SA’s Got Talent semis

JOBURG – When ventriloquist, Isabella Jane, stepped onto the SA’s Got Talent stage on 11 October, little did the judges, studio audience and TV viewers know they were in for something special when she and Rosie, her puppet, began their performance.

Without reservation, Jane and Rosie were given a resounding ‘yes’ to go through to the SA’s Got Talent semifinal round which will take place on 25 October on e.tv at 6pm.

This is not the first time the 16-year-old Fourways resident has impressed audiences. Jane was one of the featured headliners in the Born To Perform Gala Concert which took place at The Lyric Theatre, Gold Reef City, in July. As a headliner, she blew the audience away with her and Rosie’s rendition of Barbra Streisand’s People.

Since then, Jane and Rosie have made countless appearances and performances nationwide. Most recently, they shared the stage with the Stageworx Performers and other Born To Perform artists alongside artists such as MiCasa and Samantha Peo at the prestigious On the Night Fireworks Spectacular held at St John’s College, receiving a rapturous response from the 2 000-strong crowd.

This teenager is no stranger to performing, as from the tender age of five she stepped onto the stage at the National Eisteddfod and sang Bare Necessities. This performance won her a spot in the South African team which would go on to participate in the SA Championships of the Performing Arts the following year.

Jane is currently focused on being a recording artist, actress and performer, both on stage and in film, but first she aims to get as far as she possibly can in the current season of SA’s Got Talent.

“I am so excited as I’ve always wanted to make the entertainment industry my career, and SA’s Got Talent is a brilliant platform for me to be able to touch as many people as possible and to make them feel something. To be able to touch hearts and minds in a positive way is a privilege,” she said.

To vote for Jane and Rosie, readers can watch the show on e.tv at 6pm on 25 October. Live voting takes place after the show between 7pm and 7.30pm, with the results given on the same evening.
