Get a bit of exercise and fresh air by taking a Braamfontein Graffiti Tour alongside local graffiti artist, Bias. The walking tour will be loaded with interesting facts about the international graffiti movement, and is the perfect chance to get out and about in the city, snap a few fantastic photos and spend time with the family. It’s happening on 4 July from 10am to 12am. The meeting point is Velo Café, corner of Juta and Melle streets.

The geeks are coming out in full force as the Geek Fest hits Huddle Park this weekend. Expect a load of adults dressed up as their favourite superheroes, villains or anime characters, tons of video, PlayStation, computer and board games, and even a RoboWar. Complete with a Cosplay and Zombie Run, it promises to be a fantastically nerdy event. It’s happening on 4 July at Huddle Park, Linksfield. Tickets are from R80.

The South African World Series of Beer Pong will be presenting Pong Jam … the best competitive drinking event of the year and the largest beer pong event in Africa. You can enter as a team or on your own and the prizes are cash or lager. Not bad at all. Bands such as The Tazers and Gangsterdam will be performing over the six hours of play and a variety of food stalls will be selling their mouth-watering wares. It’s happening on 11 July at Carfax, Newtown, 39 Gwi Gwi Mrwebi street. Tickets range from R80 for spectators and R200 for competitors.
