Guests go Irish at Monte
MONTECASINO - Guests found the pot o' gold at the end of the rainbow at Montecasino and Virgin Mobile SA's Go Irish Outdoor Concert.
The event created an authentic St Patrick’s Day celebration with Gaelic music, river dancing and authentic Irish delicacies. Glasses of Guinness in hand and adorned with green hats, necklaces and scarves, guests were transported to the emerald isle on 14 March.
The event also played host to Prime Circle, Ballyhoo, Michael Fergusson, and Soweto Gospel Choir.
However, the highlight of the concert was a performance by legendary musical artist, Finbar Furey.
Furey is one of the brothers from the band The Fureys. He is a storyteller on stage who has been playing the uilleann pipes and banjo for 40 years, and performing in a family folk band for most of his life. Furey also acted in Martin Scorsese’s Gangs of New York.
