The Rocky Horror Show comes to Montecasino

MONTECASINO- The Rocky Horror Show returns to Joburg for a season at Pieter Toerien’s Montecasino Theatre from 14 November to 1 February next year.

Produced by Eric Abraham and the Fugard Theatre, Richard O’Brien’s iconic smash hit rock musical The Rocky Horror Show has set Cape Town and Joburg alight for months, and will be returning to Joburg’s Montecasino Theatre due to overwhelming public demand.

The show is directed by Matthew Wild with musical direction by Charl-Johan Lingenfelder and choreography by Louisa Talbot, with Brendan van Rhyn, Daneel van der Walt and Andrew Laubscher winning as best leading actor in a musical, best supporting actress in a musical and best supporting actor in a musical respectively.

The live onstage band led by Stefan Lombard and Kate Borthwick, and featuring Justin Badenhorst, Janus van der Merwe, Theo Janse van Rensburg, Jason Green and Sipumzo Lucwaba, accompanies the cast every night as they belt out the iconic hit songs Science Fiction, Double Feature, Dammit, Janet!, Sweet Transvestite and The Time Warp.

There will be official dress up nights at each 8pm performance every Friday and Saturday beginning on 14 November.

The best-dressed person will, yet again, win an Apple iPad mini at the end of the season. Performances at the Montecasino Theatre run from Tuesday to Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 4pm and 8pm and Sundays at 2pm and 6pm. Tickets range from R100 to R375 and are available through Computicket or the Theatre box office.

There will also be a special late night performance to welcome in the new year at 9.30pm on 31 December.
