Summer has arrived at Aarya

MONTECASINO - There's no mistaking the fact that summer has arrived at Aarya restaurant in Montecasino.

Season 1 Masterchef SA winner and owner of Aarya, Deena Naidoo has created a signature summer menu which not only reflects the change of season but also his heritage.

Naidoo has created a menu to reflect South Africa’s multiculturalism with a fresh smoked salmon salad with micro greens, radishes and kumquat, the already popular smoked salmon pizza with cream cheese and sturgeon caviar on a crispy homemade base and line fish of the day served with a wasabi mash and drizzled with a pickled ginger mayonnaise.

Naidoo has included a flavourful and moreish prawn curry in the menu, which is his love letter to Durban and his South Indian heritage. The prawn curry is also the very same dish which won him the curry challenge in Season 1 of Masterchef SA. Naidoo said his menu has a pink theme, featuring pink salmon and prawns to evoke the playful nature of summer.

According to Norman Wallace, Tsogo Sun’s Operations Director, the delightfully pink dishes are best paired with an equally delightful and pink wine like Graham Beck’s Gorgeous.

Naidoo has thoroughly enjoyed the experience of running Aarya since it opened in November 2012. He is the only Masterchef winner in the world to have been awarded a restaurant.

“I am extremely grateful to the public for their overwhelming support and for responding so positively to Aarya. I really look forward to sharing the new summer sensation experience with them,” he said.
