Anonymous gamer wins a million
MONTECASINO - Ninety slots enthusiasts engaged in a battle of index fingers for the chance to be an instant millionaire.
Hopefuls from Montecasino and other Tsogo Sun casinos around South Africa competed in the Slots Factor final at The Ridge Casino in Witbank.
Tsogo Sun’s Slots Factor tournament saw over 18 000 slots fans buy in for just R100 to secure the opportunity to win their share of a guaranteed prize pool of R1.8 million. The final was the culmination of eight weeks of fast-paced action in Tsogo Sun’s 14 casinos around the country, including Montecasino.
While winning R1 million could also make one an instant celebrity, the grand prize winner who hailed from the Free State preferred to keep her name out of the limelight.
Apart from the grand prize, a total of R1.25 million in prize money was given away. Placing second in the final, Johannes Botha was given R100 000; and third placed Erica Cain, received R50 000. The balance of the R1.25 million was spread out between the other top 10 finalists.
