Sweet success of Paulshof baker
PAULSHOF - The 2014 Mugg and Bean Cake Boss Champion is Rose Bangu of Mugg and Bean Cambridge Crossing in Paulshof.
The competition was a nationwide search across all Mugg and Beans to find the baker of the most delectable cake. Bangu, who is the head baker at the Cambridge Crossing franchise took the cake with her own creation of an indulgent choc cherry mocha marble cake. She competed against seven other finalists from across South Africa.
Regular customers at the Cambridge Crossing franchise have been rooting for Bangu and her cake and have consumed many slices to help her get the recipe just right. The cake is presently available at Cambridge Crossing exclusively, but will be on offer at all Mugg and Bean branches soon. “I am so happy,” Bangu said. “The competition was nerve-wracking and it was great just to be in the finals and meet the other bakers from around the country.
“I’m proud to have my own cake on display and can’t believe it will go across South Africa now.”
