1. Go to the fair

The Parkhurst Village Fair promises to be “quintessentially Parkhurst”, and will make for a fun day out with family and friends, both two- and four-legged. The 26 July event at Verity Park will feature gourmet food trucks, the suburb’s own craft beer, and will have a special focus on lifestyle and cycling.

2. High tea for cancer

3. Take a run through a park

ParkRun is an increasingly popular way to get some exercise and enjoy Joburg’s beautiful parks on a weekly basis. The free, 5km, timed runs are open to all, and are safe and easy to take part in.

ParkRuns take place at Delta Park, and in Bryanston and Lonehill.

4. Celebrate Argentine culture

Beer-lovers, rejoice! Fourways’ The Beerhouse will celebrate its opening this weekend. This new venue features 25 taps and “Africa’s biggest beer variety”. Its housebrew, Gold Rush, will also be launched. This pale ale is a collaboration between Joburg inner city brewery, SMACK!Republic and Cape Town’s Lakeside brewery.

6. Mother nature knows best
