7de Laan bags another SAFTA

LONEHILL - The fans voted 7de Laan as the most popular soap in the country at the annual South African Film and Television Awards.

“These awards, the ones our viewers vote for, mean the most to us because our viewers are the reason for our existence,” said Danie Odendaal, the creator of 7de Laan.

“It makes the long hours, stress and sacrifices worthwhile. We can only offer a heartfelt ‘thank you’ for your support.”

Producer Thandi Ramathesele, who accepted the award on behalf of the production house, also expressed her appreciation of the viewers, cast and crew.

“It makes one feel deeply grateful and humble to realise our viewers still think we deserve a SAFTA after 15 years and more than 3000 episodes,” she said.

“We feel truly honoured. To the producers, cast, crew and writers, thank your for your hard work.”

7de Laan fans can look forward to a year filled with intrigue, humour, romance and new characters who come and go, and – who knows – a few old favourites might show up again.
