Bordeaux martial arts instructor branches into stunts and production

A 5th dan martial artist and instructor at local dojangs goes into stunts and movie production.

A local martial arts instructor has branched off into stunts and film production following challenges and opportunities that arose during lockdown.

Fifth dan Shane Comley-White runs martial arts academies in Bordeaux, Victory Park and Northcliff, and primarily focuses on the Korean martial art, him soo do.

“[During lockdown] I was given the opportunity to host a radio show which revolved around the martial arts and movie world,” he explained.

“This led to having the opportunity of interviewing actors from around the world and creating my own YouTube channel where I uploaded those amazing interviews for all to view.”

International martial artists and industry leaders then mentored Comley-White and encouraged him to start his own stunt team.

From there they started some work in production of local films. The premiere of HSD Production’s short film, The Suspended Man, will be held in Wynberg on August 27.

“One well-known mentor, supporter and friend of mine is Eric Roberts (known for Money Train and The Dark Knight). He is supporting our projects along with many casting and distribution agents both local and international.”
