Local four-year-old golfer has big dreams

FOURWAYS – The sky is the limit for a talented four-year-old golfer with big dreams.

Most four-year-old children enjoy playing with different toys and watching cartoons on television. This little one will make you feel like you could have done more when you were aged four.

Valentino Jones*, known on his social media accounts as Little Pro V, is not even in primary school yet, but is already starting to show his skills on the golf course. Valentino, who will be turning five in September, started playing at the age of 18 months thanks to his father.

“Dad taught me how to play. I play with him because he showed me,” said Valentino, who wants to be a golfer when he grows up.

He initially started playing with plastic clubs until he received the real ones. Valentino displays real talent in his swinging of the club, but he said it is not always easy playing the sport.

“It’s hard work, because you have to practise hitting the ball right, and it’s hard work getting the ball into the hole.”

However, Valentino does still like playing the sport no matter the challenge as he said, “It feels good when I hit the ball far and when I get it into the hole.”

Golf is not the only sport that Valentino enjoys playing. The little busy-body has also taken an interest in football, basketball, cricket, fencing, baseball and riding bikes.

Little Pro V, whose favourite golfer is American golfer Tiger Woods, wants to better his golf-playing skills to receive some special awards when he grows up.

“I want to be a golfer when I’m older, and get a Green Jacket from the Masters,” he concluded.

*His parents have requested that his real surname not be used to protect him.
