Car fanatics excited as the #Kyalami9HourRace returns after 37 years

KYALAMI – Many set up camp alongside the track and were prepared to stick around until the race finishes at 10pm this evening.


People are gathered around the track to witness the 9-hour spectacle at the Kyalami 9 Hour race.

It’s been 37 years since the race took place at the Kyalami race track and local car fanatics were excited to be able to witness the endurance race.

There are 16 South African drivers participating in the race, with drivers from 21 different nationalities taking part.

Stephane Ratel, the CEO and founder of the SRO motorsports group said that they had been keen to help revive the race and thanks to Kyalami race tracks owner, Toby Venter, the race became a reality.
