Fourways athletes win big

FOURWAYS – Athletes from Fourways High School were determined to bring home all the silverware from this year's Joe Stutzen Prestige Athletics Meeting, earning 15 medals in total.

 


Fourways High School athletes took part in the 2019 Joe Stutzen Prestige Athletics Meeting on the 21 August in which they did exceptionally well.

The athletes of the school were awarded a whopping six gold medals, eight silver medals and one bronze medal, while Grade 10 Nadya Stolarczyk was awarded the trophy for the Senior Girl Middle Distance Athlete of the day.

  • Ashley Pearsall won the silver medal in the junior girls 800m.
  • Chloe Greig won silver medals in the U19 100m and 200m.
  • Kewan Swarts won the silver medal in the U14 100m.
  • Lara Langton won the silver medal in the U17 100m and U17 200m.
  • Matt Taylor won the silver medal in the U16 200m.
  • Matthew Dinner won the gold medal in the U19 400m.
  • Nadya Stolarczyk won the gold medal in the senior girls 800m and 1500m.
  • Travis Krumples won the gold medal in the U16 100m.
  • Gary van Staden won the bronze medal in the U16 800m.
  • Ethan McDougall won the silver medal in the U15 400m.
  • Ross Lawlor, Thembani Mpolweni, Ethan McDougall and Panashe Matreke won gold in the U15 relay.
  • Nigel Chikwanha, Travis Krumples, Matt Taylor and Kamohelo Mafejane won gold in the U16 relay.
  • Winner of the trophy for the Senior Girl Middle Distance Athlete of the Day – Nadya Stolarczyk.
