Supreme Fight Night again a success
SUNNINGHILL – Amateur and professional kickboxers give the audience a smashing show at Supreme Fight League.
The fourth Supreme Fight League brought more action than ever before to the ring, as kickboxing technique won out during a thrilling evening.
The Barnyard Theatre Rivonia was packed on 4 August as 13 fights were contended across amateur, super-amateur and professional categories, all under K1.
A variety of weight divisions was also seen.
The main fight saw Adrian ‘Sparks’ van Wyk defeat Rami ‘Pitbull’ Mungul by split decision to win the vacant pro light cruiserweight title.
Event organiser, Marius Lotter said every fighter demonstrated an excellent technique.
“Each time we have this event it goes a step higher,” he said.
“We had great fighters, our video streaming was better and the fights themselves were better.
He said he particularly enjoyed the fight that was voted the Fight of the Night, a super-amateur welterweight fight where Musa ‘Bad News’ Sethwape defeated Vincent ‘Gimli’ van der Merwe via split decision.
Lotter added that the president of South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) Gideon Sam was in attendance and gave good feedback on the event.
Performance of the Night Award went to Gregory ‘The Hitman’ Gans who defeated Mario ‘The Alchemist’ Ferreira in a second-round knockout in their pro light middleweight fight.
