Beaulieu Preparatory horse riders excelled at the Gauteng Finals held recently at the school and impressed at the Gauteng Awards ceremony.

Twelve of the Beaulieu Preparatory School riders also competed in the national competition, which started mid-September at Kyalami Equestrian Park and Inanda Country Base. Over 700 riders took part in a week of events.

Speaking of the competition, coach Travis Kitch said, “Our school is renowned for winning the South African National Equestrian Schools Association’s Central Gauteng region top Category A school every year since the start of the association. They did not disappoint in 2017, winning this category again and also winning Top Preparatory School at the Gauteng finals.”

“One of our young riders, Sienna Blauuw, who is in Grade 3, won an award for the fifth highest points at finals with top results in six events. Our riding captain, Jason Slade, won 3 level 7 events which is the highest level that a prep pupil can ride at.”

Kitch said the school is proud of all pupils who participated and showed great sportsmanship.
