After settling in, the fun and games began when KFC handed out some cricket gear for the youngsters to enjoy and a cricket match between the children and the Highveld Lions cricket players commenced.

The children were famished after a few rounds of cricket and headed to the Bizhub room where they enjoyed supper followed by a movie.

At the end of the evening, Hirsch’s and Cloud Nine announced that they would be supplying a bed to each of the youngsters which they would get to take home after the sleep-out.

“As a company, we are conscious of our need to build and maintain a credible profile as responsible corporate citizens. That is why we are committed to supplying 100 beds for the sleepover,” said Alan Hirsch, chief executive officer of Hirsch’s.

“Our aim is to support and uplift these young players and it will start off with a good night’s sleep.”

For the sleep-out, the cricket team partnered with Hirsch’s, Cloud Nine and Rest Assured, as well as Konica Minolta, Sun International, Cricket South Africa, Circa, Imperial Toyota, Dairymaid and Market Caterers.
