Showjumpers compete at Equidome FEI World Cup Qualifier

KYALAMI - This is what took place at the Equidome FEI World Cup Qualifier show.

Renowned showjumpers from around the country gathered at Equidome, Kyalami, as they competed in the Equidome FEI World Cup Qualifier show which took place from 20 to 22 May.

Among the field of riders who competed were Team Nissan showjumpers Lorette Knowles-Taylor, Liam Stevens, Barry Taylor and Oscar Ncube.

Sunnypark Stables’ rider, Nicola Sime-Riley, who also competed in the show, placed second in the FEI World Cup Qualifier. “I personally had a solid and enjoyable show and I have no doubt that the spectators enjoyed themselves as much as the riders did,” she said.

“Having an international FEI course builder, Ramin Shafie from Iran, present at the show most certainly tested all of our riders in terms of how well our horses were schooled, our accuracy and our quick thinking. The sport continues to improve and I look forward to the rest of this year on all my horses.”

The final results for the qualifier comprised Simon Hendry in first on horse Principal Legionnaire, Nicola Sime-Riley on Sunny Park Elpaso in second place and third place was Govett Triggol on Callaho C-Ultra.

Knowles-Taylor won the Workpoints Powerjump as she and Nissan Titanic cleared a 1.70m jump.
