MultiChoice Diski Challenge festival final matches to be played at Nike Football Training Centre

JOBURG - The Nike Football Training Centre in Pimville, Soweto, will host the final matches of the MultiChoice Diski Challenge festival on 27 February.

The Premier Soccer League, together with sponsors, MultiChoice, made the announcement on the final round of fixtures which will see all 16 teams in action from 9am, with the final match scheduled to kick-off at 3pm.

The challenge is effectively the Premier Soccer League’s reserve league in which the fringe players of the teams in the Absa Premiership play.

The race for the winner of the second edition of the challenge is a three-horse affair between current log leaders Lamontville Golden Arrows which have 31 points, and Mamelodi Sundowns which trail abafana besithende (boys of the back heel) by a single point.

Also in contention for honours is Polokwane City, which is third on the table with the same number of points as Sundowns, but the Pretoria team have a superior goal difference.

A loss for Arrows and a draw for City and Sundowns will see the Brazilian’s being crowned champions.

Entrance to the stadium for the final games is free but the public will be required to obtain their tickets at Computicket outlets and Shoprite/Checkers Money Market counters in Gauteng. Only two tickets will be allocated per person on a first-come-first-served basis and they will be required to produce a valid South African ID document.

An announcement will be made in due course once the tickets are available.
