Fourways High cricket on the up

FOURWAYS - With the Proteas' initial struggle against England, the South Africans could possibly do with the services of Fourways High School cricket coach, Bishop Vismer.

In just a matter of months after been appointed as coach, Vismer has guided the school’s cricket teams to impressive wins in back-to-back fixtures. The school’s first team beat Dainfern College and Marias Viljoen convincingly, and the U14 side beat Christ Church and Bryanston High over consecutive weekends. Post their tour to Westville Boys in KwaZulu-Natal, the U15 team learnt a lot about their individual game and won five out of five.

The school has also acquired the services of Cricket Mentor, a company which has an exciting group of professional people whose business focus is specifically geared towards the game.

Last year, Vismer arranged for a winter cricket clinic at the school with Cricket Mentor. “Since then, the link between Fourways High School and Cricket Mentor has grown from strength to strength. I look forward to the further development of the relationship,” said the school’s sports co-ordinator David Joshua.

In line with the school’s vision of developing the game, the school has 13 cricket nets and there are plans for an indoor cricket centre in the near future.
