Young cricketers back from Sri Lanka

MIDRAND - Diverse Sports, a sports company in Midrand, hosted a tour to Sri Lanka for young cricketers from different schools around Midrand during the October holidays.

Diverse Sports held a tournament in February involving local schools and chose 27 boys to tour with the company to Sri Lanka for 10 days.

Director of the company, Loshnee Iyer said, “The tour was a dream come true for the boys and Diverse Sports management.

“Despite the weather conditions and humidity that comes with touring another country, the boys played exceptionally well.”

One of the touring players, Midrand High School pupil Jarryd Ethan Govender said, “I would like to thank Diverse Sports for the opportunity to play in our first international cricket tour. Coming from a [government] school this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and we really enjoyed every moment.”
