All eyes will be on SuperSport United to see whether they can overcome the hurdles in their quest to defend the Telkom Knockout Cup.

Their first battle will be Polokwane City in a draw that did not throw up any heavyweight clashes due to the top eight teams in last season’s Absa Premiership being seeded.

Final venues, dates and kick-off times for the matches of the 10th edition of the cup will be announced in due course by the Premier Soccer League after consultations with sponsors, Telkom.

Themed, Unlimited Celebration of Football, in reference to its 10th edition, the cup is set to see Maritzburg United lock horns with maidens of the premier division, Jomo Cosmos; while Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs, who are licking their wounds following a humiliating defeat at the hands of Ajax Cape Town in the MTN8 final, will travel to the North West province to face Platinum Stars.

The other Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates will host the University of Pretoria, probably at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto; while the out-of-form Mamelodi Sundowns will entertain Port Elizabeth-based, Chippa United, most likely at the Lucas ‘Masterpieces’ Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville outside Pretoria.

Free State side, Bloemfontein Celtic will clash with Mpumalanga Balck Aces in what is described as a clash of two titans of the maize triangle.

Free State Stars will face up to Bidvest Wits; with MTN8 2015 champions Ajax Cape Town travelling to KwaZulu-Natal to face Durban side, Lamontville Golden Arrows.
